An American couple was on vacation in Hong Kong. The had taken their beloved dog with them. One day while touring they stopped in a restraunt to eat. Their pooch was parched so they asked the host of the restraunt to get him some water. The host didn’t speak english. So the couple made hand gestures at their dog and then at their mouths in a drinking motion. The host finally understood and took the dog in the back with him. The couple went to their seats and waited. A while later the waiter came to their table with their plates, but they hadn’t ordered yet. They found someone who spoke English to act as translater. They were told they had ordered and the chef had prepared the dog special for them. The couple was dismayed to find the meat on their plates was their beloved dog, who the host had mistakenly understood they wanted prepared for their meal.
Is this a true story or an urban legend?
Randee, it was like 2 in the morning when I watched it and I fell asleep before the end, dang it, I can’t believe I missed the one about the lady on the cruise ship
P.S. Thumbs up for everyone.
It’s called Urban Legends, and it’s on the Bio channel.
While I was watching this, I was completely horrified, I could believe it was true. At the time it didn’t cross my mind about how hard it would be to take your dog with you to Hong Kong on vacation, but it is possible. The fact is though, that it is illegal to even eat dogs in Hong Kong, which makes this story an Urban Legend.
Urban Legend. I saw this episode…the lady whose butt got stuck to the toilet on the cruise ship and ripped her insides out was the true one. I think I watch too much tv.
I think it was actually just called Urban Legends on discovery channel or something…I’ll double check and get back to you!
Its called Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction…it’s pretty old…ran 97-2002. Good stuff though. They show 5 stories in an hour and you have to pick the true one.
